Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments to evaluate the needs and strengths of each patient, leading to the formulation of individualized treatment plans.

• Utilize a variety of evidence-based therapeutic interventions including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and mindfulness techniques to assist patients in achieving their mental health goals.

• Facilitate psychoeducational groups and support sessions to offer patients a sense of community, enabling them to connect with others who share similar experiences.

• Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated care that addresses all facets of a patient’s well-being.

• Provide crisis intervention support for patients experiencing acute episodes, ensuring timely and effective responses to mental health emergencies.

• Educate patients about their mental health conditions, treatment approaches, and available resources, helping them navigate systems of care effectively.

• Maintain precise and confidential patient records in compliance with all legal and ethical standards, using electronic health record (EHR) systems proficiently.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Hillside, you will primarily work with adults and adolescents dealing with a broad spectrum of mental health issues, including serious mental illnesses, mood disorders, anxiety-related conditions, and trauma. Our patient population is diverse, encompassing various cultural backgrounds, and you will be essential in providing culturally competent care tailored to each individual’s needs.

Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field is required; a Master's Degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Counseling is preferred.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in California.
