The work setting is an onsite rehabilitation facility located in Stafford, Virginia, designed to support the therapeutic needs of pediatric patients. Key Responsibilities

• Direct physical therapy interventions that focus on preventing disabilities, alleviating pain, and developing or restoring muscle function in accordance with individualized treatment plans.
• Evaluate patients through diagnostic assessments to determine functional capabilities and establish appropriate therapy goals.
• Oversee and mentor Physical Therapy Assistants in implementing treatment plans and ensure compliance with best practices and state regulations.
• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients' home environments to make recommendations that enhance independence and safety in daily activities.
• Administer a variety of rehabilitative techniques including manual therapy, functional exercises, and modalities such as traction and massage.
• Modify and adjust prosthetic and orthotic devices as necessary and communicate recommendations to the referring physician.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation, including initial evaluations, care plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries, adhering to regulatory standards and organizational policies.
• Participate actively in interdisciplinary team discussions to collaboratively plan treatment and evaluate patient outcomes.
• Train patients and their families on the use of therapy equipment and educational resources regarding their therapy programs.
• Stay accessible to assist Physical Therapy Assistants during treatment sessions, ensuring high-quality care and adherence to therapeutic protocols.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of this role is on pediatric patients, including infants, children, and adolescents with a range of conditions requiring physical therapy interventions. This may encompass developmental delays, neurological disorders, orthopedic injuries, and post-surgical rehabilitation. A compassionate and engaging approach will be vital in establishing rapport with both the children and their families, ultimately fostering an environment conducive to healing and growth.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• A minimum of one year of experience working in physical therapy, preferably within a pediatric or home care setting.
• Valid physical therapy licensure in the state of Virginia, maintaining a good standing record.
• Current CPR certification is required.
• A valid driver's license and insurance are necessary to facilitate any home visit needs.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and engage with patients and families.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this full-time Physical Therapist position ranges from $100,000 to $120,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
