Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough preliminary interviews with clients, documenting their history and mental health status from the initial consultation through to the completion of treatment.

• Evaluate and assess clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health through validated assessment tools and structured interviews.
\n
• Develop individualized treatment plans and recovery strategies for clients, considering their specific needs and backgrounds.
\n
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, incorporating evidence-based practices and innovative therapeutic approaches.
\n
• Regularly monitor clients' progress throughout their treatment journey, making adjustments as needed to enhance their recovery outcomes.
\n
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including other mental health professionals, physicians, and social workers, to ensure holistic care for clients.
\n
• Maintain relationships with psychiatrists and attend to any concerns regarding clients who may require further psychiatric evaluation or medication adjustments.

• Identify and actively address any behaviors that may obstruct clients’ recovery paths, implementing proactive strategies tailored to their needs.

• Support clients’ families and primary caregivers, equipping them with essential tools to navigate mental health challenges.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will work with a diverse client base, encompassing individuals experiencing a wide range of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship challenges. Our client-focused approach prioritizes empathy and understanding, allowing you to create meaningful therapeutic alliances that empower clients in their recovery journey.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York.
\n
• A successful passer score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Demonstrated previous experience as a mental health counselor with a strong clinical acumen.
\n
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, to efficiently record and manage client information.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience in dealing with co-occurring physical and emotional health conditions, including substance use disorders.
\n
• A working knowledge of the best practices as outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
\n
• A comprehensive understanding of the effects and side effects of medications prescribed for mental health conditions.
\n
• Superior written and verbal communication skills, enhancing the therapeutic relationship with clients.
\n
• Excellent interpersonal skills characterized by empathy, patience, and understanding.
