Though most interactions occur online, clinicians may occasionally engage in face-to-face meetings at our outpatient office in West Hempstead to enhance patient relationships and offer family consultations when necessary. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments to identify the unique needs and challenges of children and adolescents.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that encapsulate the developmental stages of patients while involving family dynamics.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to tackle various mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, and behavioral disorders.

• Facilitate family therapy sessions aimed at equipping parents and caregivers with tools to create nurturing environments conducive to the patient’s mental health growth.

• Work closely with a team of experienced child psychiatrists and auxiliary staff to ensure cohesive and comprehensive care for our clients.

• Provide immediate crisis intervention and support during mental health emergencies affecting young individuals.
\n
• Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, discuss treatment options, and provide information regarding relevant community resources.

• Maintain accurate documentation of treatment sessions and case notes in accordance with legal and ethical standards.

• Participate in team meetings and case consultations to align on treatment strategies and share best practices.

• Stay current with research developments and best practices in child and adolescent psychiatry to continually enhance service delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or similar accreditation in the state of New York.

• Demonstrated knowledge of child and adolescent mental health disorders, along with familiarity with evidence-based treatment modalities.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, embodying a compassionate and child-centered approach.

• Capacity to establish rapport effectively with children, adolescents, and their families.

Preferred Experience\n

• A graduate degree (Master's or Doctorate) in the aforementioned fields is highly preferred.

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in a related mental health setting is favored.

• Prior experience delivering individual and family therapy specifically to children and adolescents.

• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and an aptitude for utilizing digital tools effectively.

The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 100,000 to USD 120,000, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package.
