Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments to understand the needs and circumstances of children and adolescents seeking help.

• Craft individualized treatment plans that address developmental stages, social contexts, and family dynamics.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and play therapy, to support young clients in managing conditions like anxiety, depression, ADHD, and behavioral disorders.

• Facilitate family therapy sessions to engage parents and caregivers, fostering a collaborative approach to treatment and improving outcomes.

• Coordinate closely with child psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to provide a unified care strategy for patients.

• Respond to mental health emergencies by offering immediate crisis intervention and support to children and their families.

• Educate families on mental health literacy, promoting awareness of treatment options and available community resources.

• Maintain meticulous and confidential patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and ethical standards.

• Engage in regular case consultations and team meetings to discuss patient progress and share insights with colleagues.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The therapist will primarily work with children and adolescents dealing with a spectrum of mental health issues. Our patient population includes those experiencing severe emotional difficulties, developmental disorders, and mental health emergencies. The therapist's role in evaluating, treating, and supporting young patients is pivotal in fostering healthy development and improving family dynamics.

Qualifications\n

• Possession of a Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure in New York State as an LCSW, LCSW-R, LMHC, or LMFT.

• Strong theoretical knowledge of child and adolescent development and mental health disorders.

• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems to document patient interactions and treatment outcomes accurately.
