Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough crisis assessments for individuals experiencing acute mental health emergencies, leveraging established assessment tools and techniques.
• Provide immediate therapeutic support and counseling for clients in need, helping them navigate their distress and formulate safety plans.
• Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency responders as necessary to ensure the safety of clients during crisis situations.
• Offer consistent follow-up care and tailored recommendations for ongoing treatment, ensuring clients receive the support they need beyond initial interventions.
• Employ de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention strategies to effectively manage challenging situations, thereby minimizing risk to clients and others.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The ideal candidate will work with diverse populations, predominantly focusing on individuals grappling with substance misuse and addiction-related issues. As a counselor, you will foster a supportive therapeutic relationship, understanding the unique cultural and contextual factors that influence each client's journey to recovery.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling or a related field from an accredited institution.
• A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) certification is mandatory.
• A minimum of three years of recent, progressive experience working in crisis intervention and mental health counseling settings.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build rapport and trust with clients in distress.

Compensation and Benefits
