Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments for patients and their families to pinpoint emotional, social, and environmental needs and strengths related to their medical diagnoses and treatment.

• Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to align treatment approaches, communicate critical patient information, and ensure coordinated care.

• Facilitate effective discharge planning by interacting with medical professionals, insurance providers, and other healthcare entities to create seamless transitions for patients post-treatment.

• Provide education and counseling to patients and families on adapting to illnesses and the accompanying challenges, ensuring they have the necessary tools and support.

• Implement crisis interventions and offer various therapeutic modalities, including individual, group, and family therapies, tailored to the unique needs of our clientele.

• Evaluate oncology patients for mental health concerns such as depression and anxiety, offering short-term counseling as required.

• Answer on-call rotation duties to manage after-hours concerns and emergencies effectively.

• If needed, engage in the facilitation of involuntary examinations per the Baker Act, ensuring appropriate care is delivered.

• Present at educational conferences as a subject matter expert on psychosocial oncology practices, sharing insights to foster wider understanding and training within the healthcare community.

• Contribute to community service initiatives through educational outreach, consultations, and development of resources to benefit cancer survivors and their families.
