Work Environment

Located in the vibrant community of Syracuse, NY, our outpatient clinic provides a friendly and professional atmosphere for both staff and patients. This onsite setting allows for personal interaction with patients during their rehabilitation process, enabling therapists to monitor progress in real-time and adapt treatment plans as necessary. The standard work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with occasional flexibility required to meet clinical demands and patient needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement individualized treatment plans based on comprehensive assessments to enhance patient mobility, strength, and function.
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, techniques, and activities that promote wellness and alleviate pain.
• Educate patients about proper body mechanics and prescribe home exercise programs to support recovery objectives.
• Utilize various therapeutic modalities including electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold therapy as part of patient treatment.
• Document patient progress meticulously to track improvements in range of motion, strength, and overall functional capabilities.
• Prepare and organize treatment areas, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are ready for each session.
• Work collaboratively with a team of healthcare professionals—including Occupational Therapists and Speech-Language Pathologists—to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
• Foster a supportive and encouraging environment that promotes patient motivation and emotional well-being throughout the rehabilitation journey.
• Adhere to professional ethics and standards, maintaining patient confidentiality and fostering respectful relationships.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Physical Therapist will primarily work with a diverse patient population ranging from young athletes recovering from sports injuries to elderly patients seeking to regain mobility after surgery. Our clinic places a strong emphasis on personalizing care to address the distinct requirements of each individual, taking into consideration their physical capabilities, goals, and personal circumstances.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
• A valid state license or certification to practice as a Physical Therapist.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 1 year of experience working in an outpatient rehabilitation setting.
• Experience with diverse patient populations and treatment modalities would be advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits
