Key Responsibilities

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, your role will involve:

• Conducting thorough evaluations of patients with orthopedic conditions to develop personalized treatment plans aimed at improving strength, mobility, and function.
• Implementing manual therapies and therapeutic exercise programs tailored to individual patient needs, monitored for effectiveness and adapted as necessary.
• Overseeing and mentoring physical therapy assistants in their treatment techniques, ensuring compliance with care protocols and quality standards.
• Establishing and maintaining accurate clinical documentation, including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries, in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
• Actively participating in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and collaborate on care strategies.
• Educating patients and families about the rehabilitation process, offering consultations on maintaining physical wellness outside of therapy sessions.
• Regularly assessing the clinical environment and making recommendations for improvements that will enhance patient independence and safety.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will primarily involve treating patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and chronic pain conditions. These individuals often require intensive rehabilitation to restore their functional abilities, and they will rely on your expertise to guide them through difficult recovery processes. You will play a critical role in their journey, from initial evaluation to discharge, ensuring they receive holistic, individualized care throughout their treatment.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• A valid PT licensure in good standing in the state of Florida.
• At least one year of relevant experience in an acute care or home care setting, demonstrating a strong understanding of orthopedic conditions.
• Current CPR certification.
• A valid driver's license and automobile insurance.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and other healthcare professionals.

Preferred Experience

While one year of clinical experience is required, additional experience in specialized orthopedic settings or further certifications in specialized techniques (e.g., manual therapy, sports rehabilitation) would be advantageous. Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to continuing education in the field of physical therapy are also highly regarded.
