Work Environment

This position is based onsite at our hospital facility, where teamwork and collaboration are at the forefront of delivering exceptional medical care. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, providing a balanced professional environment conducive to patient care and personal well-being.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver advanced practitioner care to orthopedic patients under the supervision of experienced orthopedic surgeons, which includes the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
• Conduct thorough patient examinations and develop treatment plans based on comprehensive patient histories, including the interpretation of radiology reports and lab results.
• Manage patient care across the continuum, from initial consultation through pre-operative assessments, surgical assistance during procedures, and postoperative follow-up care.
• Write prescriptions and order necessary therapies while ensuring continuity of care for each patient.
• Develop and implement preventive care strategies to improve patient outcomes and expedite recovery processes.
• Participate actively in clinical rounds and team meetings to discuss patient progress, treatment adjustments, and protocol adherence.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Physician Assistant in Orthopedic Surgery, you will work with a diverse patient population ranging from athletes recovering from injuries to older adults experiencing degenerative joint conditions. You will be instrumental in addressing various orthopedic concerns, enhancing mobility, and improving the quality of life for patients throughout their surgical journeys.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Master's degree or PhD from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Current state licensure as a Physician Assistant and national certification.
• DEA certification must be obtained within three months of hire.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex medical information to patients and healthcare teams.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively within diverse teams.
• Proficient problem-solving abilities, with attention to patient-centered care.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of one year of recent clinical experience in orthopedic specialty care.
• Experience in managing urgent referrals and wound care specific to orthopedic patients.
• A background in assisting during surgical procedures under the supervision of orthopedic surgeons is highly desirable.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from USD 160,000 to 200,000, commensurate with the candidate’s level of experience and expertise.
