Work Environment

Operating in a fast-paced surgical center, the work environment at Triage Medical Clinic is both dynamic and supportive. As a Physician Assistant, you will engage in direct patient care, typically working onsite with a team of physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals. Our standard working hours are Monday to Friday during regular business hours, with occasional evening or weekend shifts as necessary to meet patient needs. Flexibility in scheduling is essential to ensure that all patients receive the comprehensive care they require.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform thorough medical evaluations and pain assessments to pinpoint the root causes of patient discomfort, taking into account physical, psychological, and social factors.
• Design individualized treatment plans utilizing a blend of medical, pharmacological, interventional, and non-pharmacological pain management techniques.
• Provide ongoing management and support to patients dealing with chronic pain, aiming to improve function, reduce pain severity, and foster a better quality of life.
• Address and manage acute pain resulting from injuries, surgeries, or medical treatments, employing evidence-based methods for effective relief and recovery.
• Prescribe and monitor the appropriateness of medications for pain control, ensuring patient safety and managing potential side effects.
• Perform and oversee various interventional procedures, such as nerve blocks and epidural injections, utilizing skilled techniques to effectively alleviate pain.
• Educate patients on pain management strategies, self-care techniques, and lifestyle changes to empower them in their recovery journey.
• Maintain thorough and accurate electronic health records (EHR) detailing patient assessments, prescribed treatments, and follow-up plans.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The patient population at Triage Medical Clinic primarily consists of individuals experiencing various forms of pain, including chronic conditions, acute surgical pain, and pain resulting from injuries. Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution, with relevant education in healthcare.
• Must possess an active Physician Assistant license in New York and maintain board certification in Pain Medicine or a related specialty.
• Completion of residency training and fellowship in Pain Management is highly desirable.
• Strong clinical acumen with a demonstrated proficiency in pain management practices and methodologies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on a compassionate approach to patient care.
• Proficient in electronic health records (EHR) with the ability to document detailed patient histories and treatment plans.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in a Pain Management clinic or surgical center is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from USD 260,000 to 610,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
