Key Responsibilities

As a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner, your daily responsibilities will include:

• Taking comprehensive patient histories and conducting thorough physical examinations to assess health and wellness.
• Developing, documenting, and communicating detailed plans of care for patients, making adjustments as necessary to ensure optimal health outcomes.
• Performing daily patient rounds to monitor progress and address any emerging health concerns.
• Writing orders for medications, lab tests, and diagnostic procedures, ensuring clear communication of patient needs.
• Interpreting laboratory results and other diagnostic tests to inform care decisions.
• Coordinating with attending physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare providers to deliver an integrated care experience for patients.
• Preparing thorough discharge summaries that include prescriptions, referrals, and post-discharge care instructions.
• Providing education to patients regarding necessary post-care instructions, empowering them to manage their health effectively.
• Engaging in ongoing professional development and collaboration to continually enhance care delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your focus will be primarily on women's health issues, ranging from routine gynecological examinations to complex health challenges. The patient population will include women of all ages, addressing diverse medical needs and promoting preventive care initiatives. You will play a critical role in educating patients about their health and guiding them through various wellness journeys.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:

• A Master’s Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• National Board Certification in the chosen specialty area of nurse practice.
• A current New York State license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner and as a Registered Professional Nurse.
• Experience in women's health, ideally with a minimum of one year in a clinical setting.
• A collaborative practice agreement or attestation filed with the NYS Department of Education, as stipulated by state regulations.

Preferred Experience

Preferred qualifications include additional certifications in women’s health specialties, experience with electronic health record systems, and a background in patient education and advocacy. Candidates with exposure to various women's health subspecialties are highly regarded.
