Work Environment\n

This position is primarily remote, allowing you the flexibility to perform therapeutic services from your chosen setting while engaging directly with children and families. Although the role is largely virtual, therapists will occasionally provide in-home therapy sessions or meet families at our outpatient center in Laredo. This blend of remote work and in-person connection empowers our therapists to deliver holistic support while fostering genuine relationships.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individualized therapy sessions or facilitate group therapy gatherings effectively, both at patients' homes and within our outpatient office setting.

• Develop and implement strategies for anger management, coping, and social skills training, specifically aimed at minimizing high-risk behaviors such as self-injurious behaviors or physical aggression.
\n
• Guide youth and their caregivers in enhancing decision-making skills, providing them with tools to handle behavioral challenges that arise in home environments.
\n
• Collaborate actively with the Child Family Treatment Team and various interdisciplinary professionals to synchronize treatment efforts and reinforce therapeutic goals.
\n
• Timely documentation of all interactions, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, adhering to organizational protocols.
\n
• Participate in monthly team meetings and share insights or recommendations that contribute to ongoing discussions about patient care and service improvements.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The focus of this role is on children and adolescents aged 3 to 20, particularly those with developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. As a therapist, you will engage with vibrant individuals and their families, providing targeted support and guidance necessary for fostering developmental progress and emotional well-being.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or related mental health field is required.
\n
• Active and unrestricted LMFT license is mandatory for this role.
\n
• Applicants must be available for at least 5-10 hours per week during weekday evenings, typically between 4 and 7 pm, with weekend availability being a valuable asset.

• Proficient in Spanish or Portuguese, with the ability to conduct therapy sessions fluently in one of these languages.
\n
• A valid driver's license and access to a registered vehicle for travel to client locations are essential.
\n
• Successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, will be required prior to work commencement.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience working directly with children and adolescents, particularly those who have intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).

• Prior involvement in providing positive behavior support and behavioral intervention strategies.

Compensation and Benefits\n
