Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough initial assessments and engage in preliminary client interviews to gather detailed historical and current mental health information.

• Document treatment cases comprehensively from the start of consultation through treatment to ensure continuity of care.

• Develop personalized treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of individuals, couples, families, or groups, integrating evidence-based interventions and recovery strategies.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, employing various therapeutic methodologies to promote healing and growth.

• Monitor client progress throughout therapeutic interventions, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans as needed.

• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team that includes psychiatrists, social workers, and medical professionals to create cohesive intervention strategies.

• Assist with managing client referrals to ensure comprehensive support and address additional health concerns when required.

• Provide support and guidance to family members and primary caregivers, helping them understand mental health challenges and how best to assist their loved ones.

• Conduct follow-up consultations with healthcare providers for clients who may require further medical assistance.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our client base is diverse, including adolescents, adults, and families facing a range of mental health issues, from anxiety and depression to more complex behavioral disorders. We are particularly focused on delivering culturally competent care that respects the individual needs of each client, ensuring inclusiveness and understanding throughout the therapeutic process.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• A current and valid license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of New Jersey.

• Proven success in passing the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities that enable clear interaction with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.

• Strong clinical insight and extensive experience in therapeutic counseling and mental health treatment.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience with electronic health record systems (EHR), particularly AVATAR or similar platforms, to efficiently document client interactions and treatment plans.

• Knowledge of best practices established by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA), ensuring adherence to ethical guidelines and standards of care.

• A background in dealing with clients with co-occurring physical health conditions and addiction disorders.
\n
• In-depth understanding of psychotropic medications commonly prescribed within the mental health landscape.

Compensation and Benefits\n

In recognition of the valuable contributions you will make to our organization, Safe Place Counseling Center offers a competitive salary range of USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually, complemented by a sign-on bonus.
