Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed assessments to evaluate patients' mental health history, focusing particularly on their experiences of trauma.

• Design and implement tailored treatment plans aimed at facilitating trauma recovery using evidence-based therapeutic modalities.

• Deliver individual and group therapy sessions that emphasize healing through connection and coping skills development, utilizing approaches such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).

• Engage in crisis intervention strategies to provide immediate support to patients in distress, ensuring a calm and composed approach in these challenging situations.

• Collaborate with psychiatrists and other allied health professionals to provide holistic care and seamless treatment transitions.

• Maintain comprehensive, accurate, and confidential patient records in adherence to legal and ethical standards.

• Participate in ongoing educational opportunities by attending workshops and case consultations, staying abreast of the latest research and methodologies in trauma therapy.

• Educate patients and their families on trauma responses and coping strategies, providing them with resources for further support.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This position focuses on supporting individuals who are navigating the complexities of trauma and its manifestations in mental health. You will work with a diverse patient population, including those dealing with PTSD, complex trauma histories, and associated mental health challenges. Your effectiveness in this role will significantly impact the recovery and overall well-being of these patients, helping them reclaim their lives and develop resilience.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Active licensure as an LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or PsyD in the state of New Jersey is essential.

• Demonstrated knowledge of trauma-informed care practices and resilience-enhancing therapeutic approaches.

• Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to create a compassionate and non-judgmental therapeutic environment.

• Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems and familiarity with telehealth technologies.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience in a clinical setting, focusing on trauma-informed therapy is preferred.

• Previous experience working in community health services is a significant advantage.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from USD 80,000 to 104,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
