Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough, trauma-informed assessments to evaluate patients’ histories and develop tailored treatment plans that address their specific needs and goals.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) tailored to the unique experiences of each individual.
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions designed to help clients process traumatic experiences, gain coping strategies, and promote holistic healing.
• Engage in multidisciplinary collaboration with psychiatrists and other health professionals to ensure that patients receive comprehensive and cohesive care.
• Provide essential crisis intervention support during trauma-related emergencies, ensuring clients feel immediate safety and security.
• Educate clients and their families about trauma responses and coping mechanisms, enhancing their understanding and participation in their therapeutic journey.
• Maintain meticulous documentation of patient care in compliance with legal and ethical standards, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy in EHR systems.
• Participate regularly in case consultations and professional development activities, emphasizing trauma-informed care, and staying abreast of the latest therapeutic practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Therapist will primarily work with individuals who have experienced trauma, including survivors of abuse, accident victims, and veterans. The patient population may present with symptoms related to PTSD, anxiety, depression, and complex trauma. Your expertise will not only assist in symptom management but will empower clients on their paths to recovery and improved mental wellness.

Qualifications

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
• Must hold a current and valid license as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York.
• Strong knowledge of trauma-related disorders and clinically recognized treatment modalities accompanies strong interpersonal skills necessary for effective therapeutic interactions.

Preferred Experience

• At least 2 years of post-licensure clinical experience in a mental health setting, with a strong focus on trauma-informed care.
• Demonstrated proficiency in applying trauma-focused interventions and maintaining a compassionate, non-judgmental approach is essential.
• Experience in crisis intervention and the management of high-stress situations is a valued asset.
• Proficiency in EHR systems and comfortable navigating various digital communication platforms.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges between USD 90,000 and 110,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
