Energy Balance Counseling Services is actively seeking a dedicated and empathetic Mental Health Therapist specializing in trauma recovery. This full-time position will allow you to provide critical mental health support to individuals undergoing the challenges of trauma, in a remote work setting.

Work Environment

This role will be predominantly remote, offering flexibility and convenience while maintaining a strong focus on client care and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. Although remote, you will engage in regular team meetings, case consultations, and professional development workshops to ensure that the highest standards of care and cooperation are upheld.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed assessments that evaluate clients' histories and trauma-related issues, to craft personalized treatment plans tailored to individual needs.
• Utilize trauma-focused therapeutic modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to guide therapeutic interventions.
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, creating a supportive space for clients to process their trauma and develop effective coping strategies.
• Work collaboratively with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated care, ensuring that each client receives holistic support throughout their healing journey.
• Provide crisis intervention as necessary, offering immediate support to clients experiencing trauma-related emergencies.
• Educate clients and their families on trauma responses, coping mechanisms, and available community resources, promoting understanding and empowerment.
• Maintain diligent and confidential documentation in accordance with ethical and legal standards, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems efficiently.
• Commit to ongoing professional development by staying informed about the latest research and innovative practices in trauma therapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary client population includes individuals impacted by trauma, which encompasses those suffering from PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Your role will be crucial in helping these patients navigate their healing journeys, offering them specialized support grounded in compassion and understanding.

Qualifications

• Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Oregon.

Preferred Experience

• At least 2 years of post-licensure experience working with trauma clients is highly desirable.
• Proficient understanding of trauma-related disorders and resilience-building approaches, along with experience employing trauma-specific therapeutic techniques.
• Demonstrated ability to connect with clients through excellent interpersonal communication skills and a compassionate, non-judgmental demeanor.
• Proficient with electronic health record (EHR) systems and technology-based resources.

Compensation and Benefits
