Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive, trauma-informed mental health assessments to identify patients' trauma histories and tailor appropriate treatment strategies.
• Design and execute individualized therapy plans that prioritize trauma recovery, focusing on building resilience and coping strategies.
• Utilize therapeutic modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to provide effective interventions.
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions that empower patients to process trauma, develop adaptive coping mechanisms, and promote emotional healing.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated care, ensuring a holistic approach to patient well-being.
• Respond to crisis situations by delivering immediate support and intervention strategies during trauma-related emergencies.
• Educate patients and their families on trauma responses and coping techniques while providing information on available resources.
• Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards by maintaining accurate, confidential documentation of patient progress and treatment plans.
• Engage in ongoing professional development by participating in case consultations, team meetings, and training on cutting-edge trauma-informed practices.
• Stay abreast of the latest research and advancements within the field of trauma therapy to continually enhance service delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work primarily with trauma survivors, including individuals affected by post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Our focus is on providing a safe, supportive, and empathetic therapeutic relationship that fosters trust and encourages healing. Your role is crucial in helping clients reclaim their narratives and empower them to lead fulfilling lives.

Qualifications

• Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in New York State.
• Strong foundation in trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment modalities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, showcasing a compassionate and non-judgmental demeanor.
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and the ability to adapt to new technologies.
• A collaborative spirit, thriving in a multidisciplinary team setting.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure clinical experience, with a preference for substantial exposure to trauma-focused therapies and interventions.
• Experience in crisis intervention and working with diverse populations recovering from trauma.
• Demonstrated ability to remain calm and effective in high-stress situations.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from USD 90,000 to 110,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
