Compassionate Trauma-Informed Mental Health Therapist (Full-Time, Remote)

New Hope Counseling Services is actively seeking a full-time Licensed Mental Health Therapist dedicated to providing trauma-informed care to individuals navigating the challenges associated with trauma. This role involves remote engagement with clients, enabling therapists to create crucial safe spaces online while supporting the mental health needs of patients from the comfort of their own homes.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough trauma-informed assessments to understand each client’s unique trauma history and needs, in order to identify the most appropriate therapeutic interventions.
• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans centered around recovery goals, utilizing evidence-based practices tailored to individual client circumstances.
• Provide structured individual and group therapy sessions, employing therapeutic modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to facilitate healing.
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, medical professionals, and social workers to deliver integrated and comprehensive care.
• Respond to acute trauma-related crises, offering immediate intervention and strategies to manage distress for clients in need.
• Educate clients and their families about coping strategies, trauma responses, and resources available to support their recovery process.
• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation, ensuring compliance with ethical standards and legal requirements.
• Participate in case consultations and ongoing professional development to stay informed of the latest advancements in trauma therapy and mental health practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This position will involve working closely with a diverse patient population, including individuals suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. You will play a critical role in not only treating these conditions but also building rapport and trust with clients who may be navigating sensitive experiences.

Qualifications

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Active and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Psychologist, or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of California.
• A strong understanding of trauma-related disorders and familiarity with trauma-informed care approaches.
• Exceptional communication skills with a strong, empathetic approach to client interactions, fostering a non-judgmental environment.
• Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant software for case management.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in a clinical mental health setting, ideally focused on trauma and related issues.
• Demonstrated proficiency in conducting and applying trauma-specific therapeutic interventions and ongoing patient assessments.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers an annual salary range of USD 90,000 – 110,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package which includes:
