The Life Carriage Counseling Center is actively seeking a dedicated and empathetic licensed mental health therapist to join our remote team. This full-time position will focus on providing specialized therapeutic support to individuals grappling with trauma-related conditions.

Work Environment

This role is entirely remote, utilizing telehealth technology to connect with clients across various regions. At Life Carriage, we prioritize a collaborative and supportive work culture that empowers therapists to unleash their full potential while safeguarding work-life balance. The standard work schedule spans Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility needed to accommodate patients’ scheduling requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate individual patients' unique trauma histories and facilitate appropriate treatment alignment.
• Formulate and implement individualized treatment plans centered on trauma recovery and resilience enhancement, which may involve various therapeutic approaches.
• Utilize evidence-based interventions, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), effectively in both individual and group formats.
• Deliver personalized therapy sessions aimed at helping patients process trauma, cultivate coping mechanisms, and foster emotional healing.
• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure a comprehensive and integrated approach to patient care.
• Provide immediate crisis intervention and support during trauma-related emergencies, ensuring timely and effective responses.
• Educate clients and their families on trauma responses, coping strategies, and community resources to bolster ongoing recovery efforts.
• Maintain precise and confidential documentation in accordance with ethical and legal guidelines, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems proficiently.
• Engage in continuous professional development and participate in case consultations and team meetings to enhance team knowledge on trauma-informed practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary clientele consists of individuals who have experienced trauma, including those with PTSD and complex trauma-related disorders. Our therapeutic approach aims to foster healing and resilience while respecting the unique backgrounds and experiences of each patient, ensuring they feel safe and supported throughout their healing journey.

Qualifications

• A Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT), licensed mental health counselor (LMHC), licensed clinical social worker (LCSW), or LCSW-R in the state of New York.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills paired with a compassionate, non-judgmental approach toward patients.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure in high-stress situations.
• Technical proficiency in EHR systems and general computer applications.

Preferred Experience

While a minimum of two years of post-licensure experience is preferred, candidates demonstrating a strong foundation in trauma-related disorders, treatment modalities, and interventions will be considered favorably. Experience utilizing trauma-informed therapies is highly valued.

Compensation and Benefits
