Key Responsibilities\n

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Conducting individual in-home therapy sessions or facilitating group therapy at our outpatient center.
\n
• Implementing anger management techniques and enhancing coping and social skills among children.
\n
• Addressing and mitigating high-risk behaviors, including self-injurious behavior and physical aggression.
\n
• Improving decision-making skills for both youth and caregivers to better manage in-home behavioral challenges.
\n
• Coordinating closely with the Child Family Treatment Team and other professionals to ensure comprehensive support.
\n
• Completing required documentation promptly, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.
\n
• Attending monthly team meetings to share insights and contribute recommendations for best practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on serving children and adolescents with various developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. By utilizing a person-centered approach, you will work to empower young clients and their families, emphasizing positive behavior support and resilience-building strategies. You will be instrumental in helping families find pathways to enhanced communication and functional living.

Qualifications\n

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related mental health field.

• An active and unrestricted LMFT license in New Jersey.
\n
• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours (typically 4-7 pm), with the added flexibility for weekend sessions when necessary.

• A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
\n
• Completion of a criminal background check, which includes fingerprinting.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

Preference will be given to candidates who possess:

• Experience providing positive behavior support strategies within a therapeutic context.

• Prior work experience with children aged 3-20, especially those with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Compensation and Benefits\n
