Work Environment

Our Rehabilitation Center located in the heart of Fort Lauderdale is a dynamic, collaborative environment where healthcare professionals are empowered to foster change and improve patient outcomes. You will work closely with other healthcare professionals, including occupational therapists, nurses, and administrative staff, to create a supportive and engaging atmosphere for both patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct comprehensive physical therapy evaluations assessing patients' physical limitations and capacities, developing tailored treatment plans that focus on restoring functional mobility and enhancing quality of life.
• Supervise and provide guidance to Physical Therapy Assistants to ensure you follow best practices in executing the individualized plan of care.
• Conduct home assessments to evaluate the client's environment, proposing adjustments that promote independence and safety.
• Utilize a variety of treatment modalities, administering manual exercises, traction, massage, and other physical agents as specified in the therapy plan.
• Document patient evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in compliance with state regulations and internal policies.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to review and refine care plans, ensuring optimal outcomes through comprehensive case management.
• Continuously observe and document changes in patients' conditions, communicating effectively with physicians and case managers to adapt treatment approaches as necessary.
• Educate clients and their families on safe use of therapy devices and overall physical health maintenance, ensuring they feel confident in managing their rehabilitation.
• Maintain compliance with all healthcare regulations and ensure a high standard of care at all times.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The ideal candidate will serve a diverse patient population, including individuals recovering from surgery, those managing chronic pain, and patients with neurological disorders. Our clients range from young athletes to elderly individuals, each requiring a tailored approach that emphasizes their unique needs and goals. You'll work closely with patients in the rehabilitation center as well as in home settings, fostering a sense of trust and rapport essential for effective physical therapy.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution; a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) is preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience as a Physical Therapist in an acute care or home care setting.
• A valid, current Physical Therapist license in good standing within the state of Florida.
• Current CPR certification.
• A proactive attitude with strong clinical reasoning skills and the ability to make independent decisions.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and educate patients and their families.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in outpatient therapy settings is highly desirable.
