Key Responsibilities\n

• Conducting thorough preliminary interviews to gather detailed patient history and mental health assessments.

• Documenting all case information meticulously from the initial consultation through to the conclusion of treatment, ensuring seamless continuity of care.

• Developing tailored intervention and recovery plans for individuals, couples, families, and diverse therapy groups that reflect the latest best practices in psychotherapy.

• Facilitating engaging individual and group therapy sessions that promote discussions and healing among participants.
\n
• Regularly monitoring client progress against treatment goals and adjusting plans as needed to optimize outcomes.

• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of mental health specialists, primary care physicians, and support staff to provide holistic care.

• Maintaining communication with psychiatrists and other healthcare providers for clients requiring medication evaluation and support.
\n
• Identifying potential behavioral or emotional challenges that may impede recovery and developing strategies to address these issues proactively.

• Supporting family members and caregivers in understanding and managing mental health challenges effectively.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role focuses on a variety of clients, including individuals coping with anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, and relationship difficulties. You will work within a collaborative environment that emphasizes a client-centered approach, adapting therapeutic techniques to suit diverse backgrounds and experiences.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in New York State.
\n
• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Proven experience as a mental health counselor demonstrating expertise in client evaluation and intervention.

• Competency with electronic health record systems, preferably AVATAR, to enhance clinical workflow and documentation.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, showcasing the ability to engage effectively with clients, families, and colleagues.

Compensation and Benefits\n
