Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough initial assessments through interviews, ensuring meticulous documentation from consultation to treatment conclusion.

• Evaluate clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health, using established diagnostic tools and techniques.

• Develop individualized recovery and intervention plans tailored to clients' specific needs, considering factors such as family dynamics and cultural background.

• Lead both individual and group therapy sessions, fostering a supportive space for clients to express themselves and work through their challenges.

• Monitor and document client progress throughout their treatment, adjusting plans as necessary to reflect evolving needs.

• Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration with psychiatrists, medical doctors, nurses, and social workers to develop integrated treatment approaches.

• Provide follow-up communication with healthcare teams for clients who are in or were recently released from inpatient care.

• Assist family members in understanding and effectively managing mental health challenges that may arise.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our clients come from a wide range of backgrounds and experience varying degrees of mental health challenges, including anxiety disorders, depression, trauma, and addiction. You will work with individuals, couples, families, and groups, employing tailored therapeutic techniques to ensure effective engagement and healing. Your role is crucial in helping clients develop coping strategies and resilient mindsets to promote their overall well-being.

Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field with a focus on mental health is required. A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Psychology is preferred.

• Valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New York State.

• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Demonstrated clinical experience as a mental health counselor effectively guiding clients through their mental health challenges.
\n
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, is advantageous.
\n
• Knowledge of behavioral health context and the impact of co-occurring disorders is essential.
\n
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, along with strong interpersonal abilities.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience working within community health settings or clinics.

• Familiarity with evidence-based practices and current trends in mental healthcare.

• Understanding the best practices outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• Ability to navigate discussions about medication management, specifically related to psychotropic drugs.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The salary for this position ranges from $80,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience, along with the opportunity for a sign-on bonus.
