Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct detailed trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate each patient's history and formulate appropriate treatment plans.

• Develop and implement personalized treatment strategies, focusing on trauma recovery and resilience-building, utilizing evidence-based interventions, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).

• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions aimed at helping patients process their trauma experiences while fostering coping skills and emotional healing.

• Maintain close collaboration with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure a comprehensive and integrated approach to patient care.

• Provide timely crisis intervention during trauma-related emergencies, offering support and guidance as needed.

• Educate patients and their families on trauma responses, effective coping strategies, and available resources pertinent to their treatment journey.

• Ensure accurate and confidential documentation of all patient interactions and treatment plans in compliance with legal and ethical standards.

• Participate in continuous professional development, case consultations, and team meetings focused on trauma-informed care practices.

• Stay informed of current research and advancements in the field of trauma therapy to enhance practices and improve patient outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role specifically caters to individuals who have experienced various forms of trauma, including but not limited to post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Our patients come from diverse backgrounds, each with unique stories, requiring a therapist who brings both empathy and specialized knowledge to the therapeutic process.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York.

• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience in a clinical setting, focusing on trauma-related disorders.

• Strong knowledge of trauma-related disorders and familiarity with trauma-informed treatments and resilience-building methodologies.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey sensitivity and support in challenging situations.

Compensation and Benefits\n
