Key Responsibilities\n

• Collaborate closely with the Medical Director and the administrative team to ensure a comprehensive approach to mental health treatment, coordinating care between the clinic and external providers.

• Design and implement mental health in-service training sessions for various staff members, including medical, psychiatric, and security teams, to enhance their understanding of mental health issues.

• Effectively intervene in and manage mental health crises that arise during telehealth consultations, utilizing established protocols to ensure patient safety.
\n
• Attend commitment hearings and provide professional insight when necessary, fulfilling contractual obligations with the facility.
\n
• Develop individualized treatment plans and therapeutic goals tailored to the unique needs of each patient, ensuring a comprehensive treatment approach.

• Document all patient interactions meticulously, maintaining accurate and thorough records to support patient care and comply with legal requirements.
\n
• Safeguard the confidentiality of all medical records and sensitive patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
\n
• Verify patients’ mental health history, including the assessment of previous treatments and psychotropic medications they have used.
\n
• Prepare detailed reports regarding treatment progress and implement modifications as necessary, contributing to the continuous improvement of care strategies.

• Collaborate with nursing and mental health staff to create effective referral pathways for patients transitioning out of the clinic.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The Counselor will work with a diverse patient population, including individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, substance misuse, and other mental health challenges. Qualifications\n

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field is required.

• Possession of active and unrestricted licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas.

• A minimum of two years of counseling experience, preferably within a clinical setting, is essential.

Compensation and Benefits\n
