Although you will be working independently, you will also have the support of a collaborative team of professionals who are dedicated to mental health improvement.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide immediate drop-in crisis counseling to students experiencing distress and conduct necessary assessments and crisis interventions.Evaluate student support referrals received through Maxient, ensuring timely updates and accurate record-keeping in compliance with legal standards.Maintain confidential patient records while adhering to federal and state regulations, emphasizing both ethical practice and client privacy.Conduct outreach programs, offering professional development training for students, faculty, and staff on critical mental health topics.Engage in consultations with various stakeholders regarding best practices for addressing mental health concerns among students.Design and implement mental health services aimed at promoting wellness, academic success, and retention through events that raise mental health awareness.Assess, evaluate, and provide counseling sessions for individuals and groups facing health-related concerns, including mental health and substance abuse issues.Patient Population / Client FocusThe primary clientele includes students across various educational backgrounds who are seeking guidance and support for mental health issues. As a mental health counselor at Easing Thoughts Counseling, you will address a wide array of needs, from crisis situations to long-term therapeutic relationships, supporting clients in their journey towards improved mental well-being.QualificationsCurrent licensure as an LCSW, LPC, LCPC, LMHC, or LMFT is mandatory for applicants; associate license holders cannot be considered due to billing requirements.A Master’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field is required.Robust computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite, are essential for documentation and communication.Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage a diverse caseload effectively.Strong sense of autonomy and capability to work independently while remaining accessible to team members.Preferred ExperienceExperience working with geriatric populations is desirable but not mandated.Background in telehealth services or virtual counseling is a plus, as it enhances your ability to connect effectively with clients online.Compensation and BenefitsThe salary for this full-time position ranges from USD 50,000 to 122,000 annually, reflecting experience and qualifications. For part-time counselors, the compensation ranges from USD 50,000 to 70,000 per year.
