Key Responsibilities\n

• Engage with clients through secure telehealth platforms to assess their needs and develop tailored treatment plans.

• Utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing, to enhance client outcomes.

• Encourage clients to use community recovery resources such as AA, SMART Recovery, and Moderation Management while clarifying that these are supplementary to the professional care provided.

• Customize your work schedule, with no minimum hours mandated, providing you the autonomy to balance personal and professional priorities.

• Receive compensation for last-minute cancellations or no-show appointments, enhancing job security and satisfaction.

• Attend to professional development by obtaining Continuing Education Units (CEUs), with costs fully covered by Cygnus Behavioral Health Services.

• Collaborate with the Content Manager to produce “Expert Insights” articles or participate in support group sessions, should you choose to do so.

• Benefit from a streamlined administration process, where our team handles billing and other back-end work, allowing you to concentrate on counseling.

• Engage in monthly peer groups for shared learning and support within a community of fellow clinicians.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your clients will primarily include individuals affected by alcohol use, encompassing various stages of readiness for change and diverse backgrounds. Understanding each client's unique history and their relationship with alcohol is essential for providing tailored support. Utilizing trauma-informed care principles, you will help clients explore their options, choose pathways that align with their goals, and foster a sense of community, either within their current support networks or through connections made with our resources.

Qualifications\n

• A valid license in New York State as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker-R (LCSW-R), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC).

• Proficient understanding of the harm-reduction model, with the ability to guide clients towards moderation or abstinence based on their needs.
