This position is designed to be fully remote, allowing you to manage your schedule while delivering high-quality care from the comfort of your own space. Our outpatient office serves as the hub for collaborative efforts, and although the primary work will be remote, there will be opportunities for team meetings and professional development sessions in-person if desired. You will utilize telehealth platforms to conduct therapy sessions, enabling you to reach clients effectively while ensuring their comfort and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments to understand the unique challenges each client faces, with particular attention to older adults who may be dealing with complex geriatric conditions.

• Develop and oversee individualized treatment plans that address the specific needs of clients, considering their cognitive, emotional, and social factors.

• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including but not limited to individual and family therapy sessions, to address a spectrum of mental health issues.

• Collaborate with geriatric psychiatrists and interdisciplinary team members to create a holistic approach to each client’s treatment, ensuring all aspects of care are covered.

• Educate clients and their families on mental health conditions, coping mechanisms, and available resources in the community, empowering them to take an active role in treatment.

• Maintain precise and confidential documentation of client interactions and treatment progress, adhering to all legal and ethical guidelines.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, you will primarily work with older adults facing various mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, and age-related cognitive changes. Your expertise in geriatric mental health will allow you to tailor your therapeutic approach to meet the distinct needs of this population, fostering an environment where they feel safe and understood. You will facilitate family sessions to help bridge communication gaps and support the client’s overall treatment process.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT in California.
