Flex Well Recovery is actively seeking a dedicated Geriatric Physical Therapist to join our team in Edison, New Jersey. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to work directly with our geriatric clientele at our onsite rehabilitation center. Work Environment

Our rehabilitation center is designed to create a welcoming and supportive environment for both our patients and our staff. As a member of the Flex Well Recovery team, you will work Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm, with the flexibility to schedule your patient assignments. We value transparency and collaboration, providing you with clear payment reports to understand your compensation and encouraging independence in clinical decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations to assess patients' physical abilities, developing tailored treatment plans that align with their specific goals and needs.
• Deliver skilled and compassionate therapy services, employing a range of techniques such as therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and various modalities suitable for geriatric patients.
• Regularly monitor and document patient progress, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Engage in collaborative efforts with an interdisciplinary team, including physicians and other therapy professionals, to provide a holistic approach to patient care.
• Educate patients and their families about therapeutic exercises, home programs, and strategies for injury prevention to promote health and safety.
• Develop and implement fall prevention programs and other safety measures to minimize risks in the assisted living community.
• Stay informed on the latest advancements in physical therapy, participating in continuing education to enhance skills and ensure evidence-based practice.
• Maintain high ethical standards and confidentiality while delivering patient-centered care focused on improving the quality of life.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our primary focus is on geriatric patients, many of whom require specialized therapeutic interventions to manage chronic conditions effectively and enhance their overall quality of life. Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution is required.
• Possession of an active state license to practice as a Physical Therapist.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills essential for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
• Proficient in using electronic medical records (EMRs) to document care and track patient progress.
• A strong understanding of evidence-based practices and a passion for applying innovative therapeutic techniques.
• Commitment to patient-centered care and fostering patient independence.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team while also functioning independently.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in geriatric therapy is preferred but not mandatory, as we welcome new graduates who are eager to learn and grow in this specialty.
• Experience with fall prevention programs and senior fitness initiatives is a plus, enhancing our treatment offerings.

Compensation and Benefits
