Work Environment\n

In this remote role, you will have the flexibility to manage your schedule while ensuring that you are available for your patients. While regular hours will typically be Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, occasional evening shifts may be required to accommodate patient needs. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments of older adults, addressing their specific psychological and emotional challenges.

• Develop and customize individualized treatment plans that consider each patient's cognitive state, physical health, and social circumstances.

• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including individual therapy and family counseling sessions, focused on conditions such as depression, anxiety, and dementia-related disorders.

• Collaborate closely with geriatric psychiatrists and other health care professionals to coordinate integrated treatment strategies that enhance patient outcomes.

• Deliver crisis intervention services promptly for elderly patients experiencing acute mental health emergencies, ensuring their safety and well-being.

• Educate patients and their families about mental health issues, treatment options, and community resources to promote understanding and support.

• Maintain accurate and confidential records in compliance with legal and ethical guidelines, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems.

• Engage actively in team meetings and case consultations, contributing to a collaborative learning environment and sharing new insights from ongoing professional development.

• Stay abreast of the latest research and best practices in geriatric mental health care to provide the most effective treatment.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role is predominantly focused on the geriatric population, addressing a range of psychiatric conditions including mood disorders, anxiety, and cognitive decline. Qualifications\n

• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of California.

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in the field of mental health counseling is preferred.

• A solid understanding of geriatric mental health issues, along with evidence-based treatment modalities and approaches.

• Experience delivering individual and family therapy to older adults is essential.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, characterized by a patient-centered and empathetic approach toward therapy.

• Proficiency in employing electronic health record (EHR) systems and other computer applications for documentation and communication.

• A collaborative spirit to thrive within a multidisciplinary team setup.

Compensation and Benefits\n
