Down South Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and licensed professional counselor (LPC) to provide effective counseling and psychotherapeutic interventions to our diverse clientele. In this full-time remote position, you will play a crucial role in fostering mental health and well-being by conducting intake assessments, identifying client needs, and developing individualized treatment plans that cater to the unique backgrounds and cultural contexts of each client.

Work Environment

As a remote telehealth provider, you will enjoy the flexibility of working from home while engaging with clients through secure video conferencing platforms. You will work independently, with a supportive administrative team handling billing and documentation requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough intake assessments to understand clients’ mental health history, presenting concerns, and resources available to them.
• Develop tailored treatment plans that outline measurable goals and therapeutic strategies designed to meet each client’s specific needs.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities in individual and group sessions, adapting your approach based on ongoing assessments of client progress.
• Facilitate constructive conversations, helping clients explore their thoughts and feelings while modeling adaptive, sustainable behaviors.
• Promote self-reflection and the development of healthy coping mechanisms, supporting clients in building nurturing relationships both personally and professionally.
• Monitor client adherence to treatment regimens and make necessary adjustments based on feedback and outcomes.
• Engage in regular consultation with team members to ensure comprehensive care and continuity of services.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our counselor will work with a diverse population, including individuals from various cultural backgrounds, age groups, and socioeconomic statuses. The clients we serve may struggle with a range of issues such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, and adjustment disorders, requiring a culturally sensitive and empathetic approach in delivering care.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in counseling or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
• Current licensure as a Professional Counselor in the state of Connecticut.
• Demonstrable experience providing counseling services to individuals with a range of mental health concerns.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English; proficiency in additional languages is preferred to support our diverse client base.
• A strong commitment to delivering culturally congruent and trauma-informed care.
• Exceptional verbal communication skills and a compassionate approach to client interactions.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in a telehealth setting or familiarity with virtual counseling platforms.
• Background in community-oriented mental health support services.
• Demonstrated success in working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from USD 80,000 to 90,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition, we offer a sign-on bonus to welcome you to our team.
