Position Overview

Porterville Movement Rehab & Wellness Center is seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Physical Therapist to join our dynamic team in Newark, New Jersey. This is a full-time position where you will have the opportunity to play a pivotal role in helping patients overcome physical challenges and enhance their quality of life. Our center spans over 5,000 square feet and is equipped with the latest technology to support the rehabilitation journey. We cater predominantly to individuals with private medical insurance and are dedicated to fostering a supportive and healing environment where every patient feels valued.

Work Environment

You will work onsite at our Newark facility, collaborating closely with a small, dedicated team of healthcare professionals, including two physical therapists and one Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA). Our work schedule is from Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a predictable work-life balance while making a significant impact on patient recovery.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs and develop individualized treatment plans that address specific mobility and functional goals.
• Provide hands-on therapy sessions, managing a patient load of one patient per hour to ensure focused and effective treatment.
• Utilize various treatment techniques, including manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and functional training to enhance patient outcomes.
• Monitor and document patient progress meticulously, adjusting treatment plans as needed based on ongoing assessments.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to create an integrated approach to patient care.
• Educate patients and their families about their conditions and the therapeutic processes to foster self-management and recovery.
• Encourage lifestyle modifications by improving strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination through tailored fitness and wellness programs.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient treatments using EMR software like WebPT, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our primary focus is on patients recovering from orthopedic injuries, surgeries, and chronic pain conditions. You will work with a diverse patient population ranging from athletes to elderly patients, all seeking to regain their mobility and enhance their physical well-being. Your role will be crucial in helping them navigate their rehabilitation journey effectively.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution is essential.
• Current and valid licensure as a Physical Therapist in New Jersey.
• A clean professional record with no board actions or disciplinary measures against your license.
• Strong knowledge and experience in manual therapy techniques and therapeutic exercise prescriptions.
• Proficiency in using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software, with familiarity in platforms like WebPT being highly advantageous.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in orthopedic outpatient settings is preferred, showcasing your ability to handle complex Rehabilitation cases.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team, contributing to a positive patient experience.
• Experience in developing customized exercise regimens that address specific patient conditions and promote optimal recovery.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is competitive, between USD 100,000 and 120,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
