Work Environment\n

This full-time position operates within a remote setting, allowing flexibility while ensuring our patients receive consistent and personalized care. While the primary hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, occasional evening shifts may be required to accommodate patient needs, highlighting our commitment to providing timely and effective treatment.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments, focusing on the unique psychological and emotional challenges faced by older adults.

• Design and implement individualized treatment plans that are sensitive to cognitive changes, physical health issues, and social dynamics of the geriatric population.

• Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions through individual and family therapy sessions, addressing a variety of psychiatric conditions, including depression and anxiety.

• Collaborate continuously with geriatric psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated care, ensuring all aspects of a patient’s wellbeing are considered.

• Provide crisis intervention and immediate support during mental health emergencies affecting elderly patients.
\n
• Educate patients and their families about mental health disorders, treatment strategies, and available resources in the community.

• Maintain meticulous and confidential records in compliance with legal and ethical standards using electronic health record (EHR) systems.

• Engage actively in team meetings, professional development activities, and case consultations, contributing to a supportive team environment.

• Stay abreast of the latest research, evidence-based practices, and innovations in geriatric psychiatry to continuously improve patient outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role specifically addresses the mental health needs of the elderly population, including those facing challenges related to dementia, adjustment disorders, and other geriatric psychiatric conditions. You will interact and build relationships with patients experiencing varied social, emotional, and cognitive challenges, emphasizing a approach grounded in empathy and understanding.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• A current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT in the state of California.

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience is preferred.

• Proven expertise in geriatric mental health disorders and familiarity with evidence-based treatment modalities.

• Significant experience providing therapy to older adults, with a focus on individualized care.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with patients and their families in a supportive manner.

• Proficiency with electronic health record systems and other relevant technologies.

• A strong capacity to collaborate and communicate effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
