Key Responsibilities\n

As a licensed Mental Health Counselor, your essential duties will include:

• Collaborating with child psychiatrists and other professionals to create coordinated treatment plans that address the emotional and psychological needs of children and adolescents.

• Providing crisis intervention during mental health emergencies, ensuring timely and effective support for young individuals facing acute challenges.

• Educating patients and their families about mental health conditions and guiding them through the treatment options and community resources available to them.

• Maintaining strict confidentiality and accurate documentation, adhering to both legal requirements and ethical standards in clinical practice.

• Participating actively in team meetings, case consultations, and ongoing professional development activities to enhance your skills and knowledge.

• Conducting thorough mental health assessments to evaluate the specific needs and circumstances of children and adolescents.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role focuses specifically on children and adolescents struggling with emotional and behavioral issues. You will work with a diverse group of young individuals, ranging from those dealing with anxiety and depression to those exhibiting more severe behavioral problems or experiencing transitional difficulties. Your goal will be to provide compassionate, child-centered care that not only addresses their immediate challenges but also supports their long-term mental wellness.

Qualifications\n

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• An advanced degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or related fields, such as a Master’s degree in clinical psychology, marriage and family therapy, or social work.

• A current and valid license as an LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, or the equivalent, with eligibility for reimbursement under Medicare.

• Proven knowledge of child and adolescent mental health disorders and familiarity with effective therapy modalities.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating empathy and a child-focused perspective.
\n
• Strong ability to foster rapport and trust with children, adolescents, and their families.
\n
• Proficient in using electronic health record systems and familiar with telehealth technology.

• Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team setting.

Preferred Experience\n

While not mandatory, candidates with experience in delivering both individual and family therapy specifically to children and adolescents will be preferred. Familiarity with community resources and local health systems in Long Beach will further enhance your effectiveness in this role.

Compensation and Benefits\n
