Work Environment

This position is an onsite role based at our Fort Belvoir facility, where you will be a vital part of a small team consisting of two physical therapists and one physical therapist assistant. The collaborative atmosphere encourages teamwork and allows for comprehensive patient care. You will work Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, providing focused attention on each patient with a manageable caseload of one individual per hour. This structure allows you to deliver quality, evidence-based treatments while ensuring that each patient receives your full attention.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and analyze patient conditions to set achievable rehabilitation goals tailored to their unique needs.
• Provide comprehensive physical therapy treatments focusing on improving patients' mobility, strength, and overall functionality.
• Develop and implement customized care and fitness plans utilizing various treatment modalities that encourage progress and enhance quality of life.
• Educate patients on non-pharmacological approaches to pain management and optimize rehabilitation outcomes.
• Monitor treatment effectiveness, regularly evaluating patient progress and modifying programs as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
• Keep accurate and detailed documentation of assessments, treatments provided, and ongoing evaluations for patient care.
• Promote a proactive approach to health, encouraging healthy lifestyle choices that bolster physical wellness, including strength training, flexibility exercises, and balance activities.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and staff to deliver cohesive patient care and optimize client treatment pathways.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on patients seeking orthopedic rehabilitation, which includes individuals recovering from surgeries, injuries, or chronic conditions affecting their musculoskeletal system. You will cater to a diverse range of patients who value a personalized approach to their rehabilitation journeys and are motivated to achieve their physical health goals.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) is required for this position.
• Must possess an active Physical Therapist license in Virginia, with no history of board actions or disciplinary measures.
• Strong skills in manual therapy techniques and proficiency in creating and implementing tailored exercise plans.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR), specifically using systems such as WebPT.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in an orthopedic outpatient setting is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with patient treatment methods aimed at reducing reliance on medication through non-surgical interventions.
• A proven track record of effectively motivating and uplifting patients throughout their recovery process.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary ranging from $90,000 to $100,000 per year, commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
