Key Responsibilities

• Direct and implement physical therapy treatment plans aimed at preventing disability, alleviating pain, and optimizing physical function based on comprehensive evaluations.
• Supervise the performance of Physical Therapy Assistants to ensure the accurate execution of patient care plans and therapeutic activities.
• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients using specialized assessment tools to measure their muscle, nerve, and joint functionality.
• Assess patients' home environments and make recommendations to enhance their safety and independence during recovery.
• Deliver physical therapy services as prescribed by physicians, incorporating both manual and non-manual therapeutic techniques tailored to each individual.
• Administer traction and massage, and utilize physical agents to facilitate recovery.
• Evaluate and make adjustments to prosthetic and orthotic devices, ensuring proper fit and function.
• Participate actively in team meetings and case conferences to discuss patient progress and make necessary adjustments to care plans.
• Maintain thorough clinical documentation, including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries to meet regulatory and best practice standards.
• Communicate regularly with patients and their families about treatment plans and home exercise programs to encourage adherence and foster engagement in the therapeutic process.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and advances in orthopedic rehabilitation practices, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the clinic.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The ideal candidate will work primarily with orthopedic patients recovering from surgeries, injuries, and chronic conditions affecting mobility and physical function. Our clinicians provide a holistic approach to care, guiding patients through their rehabilitation journey while focusing on personalized treatment strategies that empower them to regain independence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or a Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from a CAPTE-accredited program.
• Current and active licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state of Virginia.
• A minimum of one year of experience in a clinical setting, preferably in orthopedic or rehabilitation care.
• Demonstrated ability to think critically and make informed decisions regarding patient management.
• Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and collaborate with healthcare teams.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with advanced therapeutic modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and manual therapy techniques.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 100,000 to 120,000, commensurate with experience.
