Work Environment

This position is based in our Alexandria outpatient office, a vibrant and busy clinic dedicated to orthopedic care. The work schedule is set from Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, offering a balanced work-life dynamic. You will collaborate closely with two other physical therapists and a physical therapist assistant (PTA), creating a supportive team atmosphere where knowledge sharing and professional development are encouraged.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and develop customized treatment programs based on each patient's unique goals, medical history, and physical capabilities.
• Manage a caseload of patients, providing one-on-one therapy sessions typically scheduled at a rate of one patient per hour.
• Implement evidence-based treatments aimed at maximizing patient mobility, promoting strength, and reducing pain.
• Utilize manual therapy techniques and develop exercise protocols tailored to enhance the patient's recovery process.
• Collaborate and consult with additional healthcare professionals to enhance comprehensive patient care and ensure continuity in treatment.
• Evaluate patient progress regularly and adjust treatment plans accordingly to optimize outcomes.
• Motivate patients throughout their rehabilitation process, fostering a proactive approach to their treatment and recovery.
• Thoroughly document all patient interactions and services delivered, ensuring accurate and complete medical records.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As part of our outpatient orthopedic practice, you will primarily work with individuals recovering from musculoskeletal issues, including post-surgical rehabilitation, sports injuries, and chronic pain conditions. Your focus will be on assisting these patients to regain their functional capabilities and improve their quality of life through skilled intervention and education.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) and hold a valid Virginia license to practice as a Physical Therapist.
• A clean professional record with no prior board or disciplinary actions against the license is essential.
• Demonstrated competency in manual therapy techniques and exercise regimen development.
• Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems, particularly WebPT, is preferred.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of two years of clinical experience as a Physical Therapist in an orthopedic outpatient setting.
• Experience in implementing comprehensive rehabilitation programs tailored to a diverse patient population.

Compensation and Benefits
