Make a difference in the lives of elementary students by providing dedicated special education support for the upcoming school year. This contract opportunity offers the chance to work within a supportive, student-centered school environment, guiding young learners as they grow and thrive. You’ll collaborate closely with general educators, families, and specialists, helping meet a range of learning needs in either a resource/inclusion or self-contained classroom setting, depending on district openings.

Qualifications:

• Valid Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) Special Education license for the appropriate grade band (Early Childhood, Elementary, or Secondary)
• Willingness to comply with the Right to Read Act, and either possess Structured Literacy proficiency or be able to complete the certification within one year of hire
• Experience working with elementary students in a special education setting preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive learning environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and adapt lesson plans and instructional strategies to support the individual needs of students
• Provide targeted instruction and interventions as outlined in IEPs
• Use data and ongoing assessments to track student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
• Foster social, emotional, and academic growth for students with mild-to-moderate disabilities (resource/inclusion) or in a self-contained setting
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, administrators, and families to ensure student success
