Work Environment

This position is entirely onsite, requiring travel to various patient homes across Fort Lauderdale. You will work closely with a small, collaborative team consisting of two fellow physical therapists and one physical therapy assistant (PTA). The home care setting provides a unique opportunity to develop deep connections with patients in a familiar environment, allowing for personalized interactions that foster trust and encourage engagement in their rehabilitation journey.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients' functional status and develop individualized treatment plans based on their specific goals and requirements.
• Manage a patient caseload efficiently, conducting one-hour sessions that include assessment, intervention, and discharge planning.
• Utilize various therapeutic modalities and evidence-based practices to enhance patients' mobility, strength, and overall physical health.
• Educate patients and their families on injury prevention, home exercise programs, and strategies for integrating therapy into daily routines.
• Document all patient interactions thoroughly and maintain accurate records to ensure continuity of care and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including nurses and occupational therapists, to deliver comprehensive care tailored to each patient's needs.
• Monitor and assess the effectiveness of treatment interventions, modifying care plans as necessary to optimize patient outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This position primarily focuses on adult patients recovering from orthopedic conditions, post-surgical procedures, and chronic pain issues. You will have the opportunity to work with a diverse client population, enabling you to utilize a range of rehabilitation techniques and approaches. We're looking for an empathetic therapist who can motivate patients to overcome challenges, regain strength, and improve functional independence in their everyday lives.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution is required, although candidates with a Master's or Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) are preferred.
• Must possess an active and valid state license to practice as a Physical Therapist in Florida.
• No history of board or disciplinary actions against your license, demonstrating a strong commitment to professional ethics and excellence.
• Proficiency in manual therapy techniques and the ability to develop customized exercise protocols based on individual patient evaluations.
• Strong familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) software, specifically WebPT, to manage documentation efficiently.

Preferred Experience

While prior experience in an orthopedic outpatient setting is strongly preferred, we also welcome professionals who have a solid foundation in general physical therapy practice or those looking to specialize. Familiarity with community resources and knowledge of therapeutic modalities will give candidates a competitive edge.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive compensation package with an annual salary ranging from USD 90,000 to 120,000 , commensurate with experience and qualifications.
