Work Environment

The role of Physician Assistant will be performed onsite at our surgical center in Ithaca, which features cutting-edge technology and facilities dedicated to pain management therapies. You will work a structured schedule of 40 hours a week, specifically Monday through Friday, providing a stable work-life balance that enhances personal and professional well-being. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with physicians, ensuring a patient-centered approach to care.
• Perform comprehensive physical exams and order relevant diagnostic tests to inform treatment pathways.
• Administer various interventions, including trigger point and joint injections, to alleviate pain and improve functionality.
• Prescribe medications judiciously and offer tailored pain management recommendations based on assessment findings and patient needs.
• Monitor patient progress consistently, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to optimize health outcomes.
• Educate patients and families on effective pain management strategies, treatment options, and healthy lifestyle practices.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records to ensure continuity of care and compliance with healthcare standards.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to collaboratively enhance the quality of patient care.
• Inform patients about their health conditions, prescribed treatments, and potential side effects to promote informed decision-making.
• Engage in professional development activities, advancing your knowledge of pain management and evolving healthcare trends.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Physician Assistant in our Pain Management practice, you will primarily work with a diverse patient population experiencing chronic and acute pain. This may include individuals with conditions such as arthritis, nerve injuries, and post-surgical pain. Your expertise will play a critical role in helping these patients navigate their treatment journeys and improve their quality of life through compassionate care and tailored pain management strategies.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies from an accredited program.
• Current and valid New York State Physician Assistant license.
• Certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) is required.
• Possession of both DEA and NPI numbers is essential for this role.

Preferred Experience

• Demonstrated experience in a clinical, hospital, or emergency room setting.
• Familiarity with pain management techniques or similar fields is highly preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges between $140,000 to $160,000, depending on qualifications and experience. In addition, we offer a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, paid time off, continuing education support, and a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 to enhance your transition into our team.
