Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments including obtaining complete health histories and performing detailed physical examinations to understand each patient's pain condition.
• Develop, prescribe, and manage individualized pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment plans for chronic and acute pain.
• Educate and counsel patients regarding their pain management options, treatment goals, adherence to therapy, and understanding potential side effects of medications.
• Provide care tailored to the unique needs of patients experiencing chronic pain, ensuring comfort and support during treatment.
• Utilize the Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP) to promote safe prescribing practices and monitor patient medication adherence.
• Consult regularly with physicians and other healthcare professionals to devise optimal treatment strategies and make adjustments as needed.
• Exhibit strong clinical assessment and diagnostic abilities to accurately evaluate complex pain disorders.
• Implement comprehensive pain management strategies, integrating a variety of techniques such as nerve blocks, spinal injections, and collaborative care methodologies.
• Maintain excellent communication with patients, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated and efficient care delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role will focus primarily on adult patients who are suffering from a wide range of pain-related conditions, including but not limited to neuropathic pain, musculoskeletal disorders, and postoperative pain management. Your ability to empathize with and provide holistic care to each patient will be essential in helping them achieve better health outcomes and improved quality of life.

Qualifications

• A Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited institution.
• A valid and active New York State Nurse Practitioner license.
• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in pain management or a closely related field.
• Comprehensive knowledge of pain disorders and innovative treatment approaches.
• Experience in prescribing appropriate medications for patients dealing with various pain conditions.
• Proficiency in conducting diagnostic tests to identify pain-related issues accurately.
• Demonstrated ability in performing relevant procedures, such as nerve blocks and spinal injections.
• A patient-centered approach that aligns treatment decisions with individual patient beliefs and preferences.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with advanced pain management techniques and options.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and telehealth platforms.
• Prior involvement in multidisciplinary care teams with a focus on pain management.
• Previous experience in developing patient education materials related to pain management therapies.

• The competitive salary for this position ranges from USD 150,000 to 160,000 per year , commensurate with experience.
