We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physician Assistant to join our Orthopedic Surgery team at the Pacific Interdisciplinary Care Center located in Syracuse, New York. This full-time, onsite role focuses on providing advanced clinical care to orthopedic patients under the supervision of specialty physicians. The position offers a competitive salary ranging between USD 160,000 to 200,000 annually, with a structured work schedule from Monday to Friday, comprising eight-hour shifts.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive advanced practitioner care to orthopedic patients under the supervision of a specialty physician, delivering diagnostic, therapeutic, procedural, and preventative care.
• Conduct thorough patient examinations, diagnose conditions, and determine appropriate treatment plans, including the interpretation of radiology reports and lab results.
• Take detailed patient histories, prescribe medications, order further therapies, and assist in surgical procedures when required.
• Manage patient care across the entire orthopedic experience, including inpatient services, consultations, pre-procedural assessments, procedural care, and post-procedure follow-up in both hospital and outpatient clinic settings.
• Engage in patient education and provide support to families, ensuring that all patients understand their treatment options and care plans.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Physician Assistant will work primarily with a diverse population of orthopedic patients, each requiring personalized care strategies. This includes pediatric and adult patients with various orthopedic conditions ranging from acute injuries to chronic disorders. The role is critical in helping improve patient outcomes through thorough assessments, timely interventions, and continuous follow-up care.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) year of recent clinical experience as a Physician Assistant, preferably with a focus on orthopedic specialty care.
• A master’s degree or PhD from an accredited Physician Assistant Program.
• Current state licensure as a Physician Assistant and national certification.
• DEA certificate required within three (3) months of hire.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, coupled with superb patient management abilities.
• Self-directed with excellent organizational skills, capable of functioning independently.

Preferred Experience

• Practical experience with wound care management and the ability to assist in surgical operations.
• Competence in handling urgent referrals from community sources.
• Experience in coping effectively with the stresses that may affect healthcare team dynamics.
