The Diverse Counseling Center is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team in a full-time remote capacity. The successful candidate will conduct mental health evaluations, develop personalized treatment plans, and facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct initial evaluations and follow-up assessments to document clients' mental health status throughout their treatment journey.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that address specific needs, ensuring interventions are evidence-based and outcome-oriented.

• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions focused on coping strategies, emotional regulation, and interpersonal skills.
\n
• Monitor client progress regularly and modify treatment plans as necessary, based on ongoing assessments and client feedback.
\n
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists and primary care providers, to manage referrals and coordinate care effectively.

• Provide crisis intervention when necessary, with a focus on client safety and stabilization.
\n
• Support families and caregivers in understanding mental health challenges and strengthening their ability to assist loved ones.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date case documentation in compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, you will work with a diverse group of clients, including individuals, couples, and families seeking support for a wide range of mental health challenges. This includes anxiety, depression, trauma-related disorders, relationship issues, and more. A commitment to understanding the varied cultural backgrounds and experiences of our clients is essential in fostering an inclusive and effective therapeutic relationship.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York.
\n
• Successful completion of relevant examinations such as the NCE and/or the NCMHCE.
\n
• Demonstrated clinical knowledge and experience as a mental health counselor.
\n
• Proficiency in utilizing electronic health record systems, preferably AVATAR, for accurate documentation and case management.
\n
• Awareness of prevalent physical and emotional health conditions, including co-occurring disorders and addiction issues.
\n
• Familiarity with AMHCA guidelines and best practices in mental health counseling.
\n
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, coupled with a compassionate and empathetic approach.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience in outpatient mental health settings, providing therapy to a varied demographic.

• Background in crisis intervention, with the ability to respond to urgent client needs.

• Knowledge of psychopharmacology and how medications may affect mental health treatment.

• Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The compensation for this role ranges from USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
