The Providence Mental Therapy Session Center is actively seeking Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists to join our dedicated team in providing essential therapy services to children and families throughout the state of Maryland. This full-time position allows for flexibility as it is conducted remotely, with therapists delivering vital in-community therapy to support children facing developmental and cognitive challenges.

Work Environment\n

The role is entirely remote, allowing for flexibility in your work schedule. You will primarily serve clients in their homes or via virtual platforms, making therapeutic support accessible to those who may otherwise face barriers in attending conventional outpatient clinics. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary Child Family Treatment Team, ensuring a well-rounded approach to therapy.

Key Responsibilities\n

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, your essential duties will include:

• Conducting individual therapy sessions in clients' homes or through virtual platforms, ensuring a supportive and effective therapeutic environment.

• Implementing evidence-based methods to facilitate anger management and coping strategies, addressing high-risk behaviors such as self-injurious behavior and aggression.
\n
• Enhancing decision-making skills among adolescents and their caregivers, ultimately fostering more effective management of behavioral issues in home settings.
\n
• Developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with other professionals, including the Child Family Treatment Team, ensuring a holistic, multidisciplinary approach to client care.
\n
• Completing necessary documentation in a timely manner, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, to track client improvement and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
\n
• Participating in monthly team meetings to discuss client progress and provide insights that could enhance the quality of care offered.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This position primarily focuses on children and adolescents aged 3 to 20 who may be experiencing developmental disabilities, cognitive challenges, or other behavioral issues. Your role is vital in providing these children with the tools and support necessary to navigate their challenges, while also working with families to create supportive environments at home.

Qualifications\n

The ideal candidate will possess the following educational and professional qualifications:

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, Social Work, or a related field.
\n
• Holds an active and unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license.
\n
• Availability for at least 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours (4-7 PM), with some weekend flexibility preferred.
\n
• Experience in providing positive behavior support and intervention.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

In addition, candidates with the following background will be highly regarded:

• Previous experience working with children and adolescents, particularly those with intellectual or developmental disabilities.

• Familiarity with therapeutic techniques that cater specifically to the unique needs of this demographic.

• Proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese is highly desirable, enabling the provision of culturally competent care to a diverse client base.

• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle as travel to clients' residences may be required.
\n
• Ability to pass a thorough criminal background check, including fingerprinting.

Compensation and Benefits\n
