Key Responsibilities\n

As a mental health counselor, your duties will include:

• Conducting comprehensive mental health assessments to identify each patient’s unique needs and developing personalized treatment plans based on best practices.

• Utilizing evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, and other modalities to facilitate effective treatment progress for individuals, couples, and families.

• Leading psychoeducational groups and support sessions aimed at nurturing a sense of community among patients dealing with common mental health concerns.

• Collaborating closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated and holistic care for all patients.

• Providing crisis intervention and support services tailored to patients in acute mental health distress.

• Educating patients about their diagnoses, treatment options, and available community resources to foster understanding and engagement in their care.

Qualifications\n

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.

• Current licensure as an LCSW, LCSW-R, LMHC, or LMFT in New York State.
