Work Environment

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will work onsite within an Assisted Living Facility setting, collaborating closely with healthcare providers, including social workers, psychologists, and other nursing staff. The environment is designed to foster an integrative approach to mental health and well-being, offering a comfortable and therapeutic space for both patients and providers. Regular hours are established from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a healthy work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments to diagnose mental health conditions, including detailed patient histories and mental status examinations.
• Manage medication protocols by prescribing and monitoring psychiatric medications, ensuring effectiveness while addressing any side effects or concerns.
• Collaborate with primary care physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to design holistic treatment plans that address both psychiatric and physical health needs.
• Provide crisis intervention services, employing de-escalation techniques and support systems for patients in emotional distress.
• Engage in community outreach efforts to raise awareness about mental health resources and remove barriers to accessing care.
• Deliver psychoeducation and therapeutic counseling, using evidence-based practices to support the emotional and psychological growth of patients.
• Maintain meticulous patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring confidentiality and security of sensitive health information.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The role primarily involves working with a diverse patient population, including individuals struggling with various mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, and mood disorders. As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, you will be instrumental in developing trust-based relationships with patients, facilitating their journey toward improved mental health and overall well-being.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing with a specialization as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
• Current state licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with psychiatric specialization.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with patients and collaborate with team members.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in a community health center or similar environment where integrated care is practiced.

Compensation and Benefits
