Position Overview San Antonio Counseling Services is on the lookout for a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, LCSW-R) to join our team. Work Environment This role is performed in a remote setting, allowing flexibility while ensuring you remain connected to our compassionate team. Our outpatient model focuses on accessible care, emphasizing individualized service delivery and family involvement whenever necessary. You will work with a diverse client population, addressing a range of mental health issues, whether in one-on-one sessions or group therapy settings. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive preliminary interviews to assess client mental health, documenting detailed case histories from initial consultation through treatment completion. Evaluate clients' mental, behavioral, and emotional health to create tailored intervention and recovery plans for various demographics, including individuals, couples, families, and groups. Facilitate engaging and therapeutic individual and group therapy sessions, leveraging evidence-based practices and innovative techniques to foster a positive therapeutic alliance. Continuously monitor and document client progress throughout treatment, adjusting intervention strategies as necessary to ensure optimal client outcomes. Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals including psychiatrists, doctors, nurses, and social workers to ensure comprehensive care for clients with complex needs. Follow up actively with any clients admitted to hospitals, coordinating treatment and ensuring integration upon their return to outpatient care. Identify and develop strategies to prevent behaviors that may hinder recovery, providing staunch support for both clients and their families in managing mental health challenges. Assist family members and primary caregivers by providing education and resources about mental health, enhancing their ability to support clients effectively. Patient Population / Client Focus Our counseling services cater to a broad spectrum of clients, ranging from adolescents to adults, struggling with various mental health issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction. We prioritize a client-centered approach, fostering an inclusive and safe environment where all individuals feel empowered to share their experiences and challenges. Qualifications A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution. A current, valid licensure (LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, LCSW-R) in the state of New York. A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE). Proven experience working as a mental health counselor in a clinical setting. Preferred Experience Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, to streamline documentation and improve patient care. Experience in dealing with underlying physical health conditions, emotional disorders, and addiction issues. Knowledge of the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices. In-depth understanding of the effects and management of medications prescribed for mental health conditions. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration within a team-oriented environment. Compensation and Benefits We offer a competitive salary ranging from USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience, alongside a sign-on bonus for qualifying candidates.
