Work Environment

This role primarily functions in a home care setting, allowing you to work directly with patients in their residence. A standard workweek is Monday through Friday, with shifts scheduled from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM or 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients in their homes to understand their individual needs and tailor treatment plans accordingly.
• Implement a variety of therapeutic techniques including exercise regimens, stretching exercises, and manual therapy to alleviate pain and enhance mobility.
• Develop and execute individualized treatment agendas aimed at helping patients achieve specific therapeutic milestones.
• Regularly assess patient progress and modify treatment plans as required to reflect changing needs and goals.
• Complete meticulous documentation of patient treatment, outcomes, and responses to therapy to ensure continuity of care.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on proper use of assistive devices and self-care techniques, promoting independence and self-efficacy.
• Stay updated on best practices and continue professional development by attending workshops and contributing to professional societies.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our patient demographic includes both children and adults recovering from a range of conditions, including surgical interventions, injuries, and various medical diagnoses. You will play an essential role in guiding these individuals through their recovery, utilizing evidence-based practices to enhance their quality of life.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy, and preferably holding a Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy (DPT).
• A valid state license to practice physical therapy in Virginia.
• A minimum of one year of clinical experience in a physical therapy setting, indicating familiarity with diverse treatment modalities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Proficient computer skills for documentation and treatment planning.
