Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and examine students to diagnose both acute and chronic health conditions.
• Develop tailored treatment plans that consider the specific needs of a school-age population, while also recommending and interpreting diagnostic tests.
• Prescribe medications and initiate specialized therapy programs to address conditions prevalent among children and adolescents.
• Deliver health education sessions, equipping students and their families with resources on disease prevention, nutrition, and overall wellness.
• Establish collaborative relationships with school faculty and other healthcare professionals to create effective care pathways for students.
• Maintain precise and comprehensive medical records according to school and state regulations to ensure seamless continuity of care.
• Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the efficacy of health services offered at the institution.
• Stay informed of regulatory changes, medical advancements, and innovative practices within pediatric health care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily serve the student population at the facility, working with children from diverse backgrounds and varying health needs. Your interventions will directly enhance their ability to attend school and engage in activities, leading to improved academic performance and well-being. You will address issues such as childhood obesity, attention disorders, and acute infectious diseases, placing special focus on preventative care and health education.

Qualifications

• Possession of an active and unrestricted nursing license in the state of New Jersey.
• Master's degree in nursing or comparable credentials from an accredited institution.
• Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience, preferably within pediatric or school health.
• Solid foundation in communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with students, families, and educational staff.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to navigate complex situations in a dynamic educational setting.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in school nursing or community health settings.
• Familiarity with electronic medical record systems and school health policies.
• Previous involvement in multidisciplinary collaborations aimed at enhancing student wellness initiatives.

Compensation and Benefits
